In an earlier post I alluded to the possibility of purchasing a Kitchen Aid stand mixer. This is often considered the “Holy Grail” of kitchen appliances to the home chef.
Being one of those who consider themselves to be such a chef, I began to get an itch for the mixer at the end of 2009.
This need for the mixer was driven by my new obsession with finding the perfect thin crust pizza recipe.
I know, that makes no sense, but it’s the truth.
For the record, I should state that my love of cooking started out with baking. I was 9 or 10 years old and I made a “Stir n Frost” Spice Cake.
I wonder if 10 year old me would be as excited about the stand mixer as 40 year old me was when I took it out of the box?
All I know is that 40 year old me has plans to make a slew of creations that would knock the socks off of 10 year old me.
With the plethora of attachments available, the possibilities are endless.
I want the Meat Grinder, the Pasta Maker and the Ravioli Maker ASAP !!
I welcome baking challenges, suggestions, recipes and ideas.
One of my first requests comes from my lovely “Cousin-In-Law” Julie who wants me to make some type of sugar free, vegan, health conscious dessert.
Should be interesting.
